Hydro Demolition

Hydro Demolition is the controlled removal of concrete using high pressure, high speed water has several advantages over traditional air tool, machine mounted breakers.

1. Minimal vibration to the operator
2. No loose or damaged concrete on the edge of breakout area
3. No damage to steel reinforcing
4. Removal of concrete around dense reinforcing (impossible using air breakers)
5. Thorough washing / self cleaning of breakout area

The use of Hydro Demolition seems to becoming more widespread amongst the construction industry, particularly within the civil engineering sector. The reasons listed above are the main factors for the increase in awareness of what is now a growing industry. To read more visit

Hydro Demolition To Be Carried Out By Sabre Jetting

Sabre Jetting Services Ltd are pleased to announce that we have been successful in our bid to carry out the major hydro-demolition works on the M5 Tewkesbury Road project which is set to start in November this year. The works consist of 40m3 of concrete removal to the abutments of the bridge running underneath the M5.

The hydro-demolition will be carried out in phases to ensure the structural strength of the bridge remains. Sabre will remove a section of the abutment which will then be poured back and allowed to reach strength before the next phase of hydro-demolition is required.

As part of the package, Sabre Jetting Services Ltd will be providing water using our tanker based hydro-demolition units and have also worked with the Environment Agency to create a solution, involving the use of one of our Siltbuster FB50 units, for discharging the run off water to nearby ground.

This project will serve as an excellent example of how Sabre Jetting Services Ltd are able to lighten the work load of our clients and meet the needs of a modern working site by providing a complete water jetting package. Sabre Jetting Services Ltd look forward to working with our long term partners Interserve and Amey towards the successful completion of this project.
